This blog is ever-so-slowly morphing into more. It began several years ago as an outlet for some of my thoughts and reflections. I posted blogs (and will continue to) that allow others to look into my mind, my heart and my family for brief glimpses of what goes on. I wanted my family and friends to be able to share.
As I've become a mom, I want to share my thoughts and reflections with other parents as a means to connect with and encourage them. So some of my posts have changed to reflect that desire. Also, as I become more accustomed to my role as mom and as I've recognized that I miss the pastoral role in my life, I am sensing a need to expand my blog to put more on the page. I want my blog, for whomever may choose to read it, to be a place they can come to be encouraged, to know they are not alone. I want it to be a place where people can see how one woman and mother is trying to follow Christ lives. I want to encourage parents to look for those moments to invest their faith in the lives of their children, leaving an important legacy.
I am also becoming more and more passionate about and invested in living in a way that is a little counter-cultural. This is lived out two ways. First, I want our family to see our lives as a mission and our home as a place for people to be welcomed, to open our doors whenever possible. And I'll talk about how we do that.
Second, I am convinced that our culture needs to change the way we overschedule our lives. Families need time together. Kids need downtime to use their imaginations, to be bored, to interact with their parents in a slowed-down mode. I hope that this site will provide some good ideas for that and I invite others to share how their families are living intentionally and finding ways to connect in our hyperscheduled world.
Thanks for visiting!
